Italian Walnut Commode Suite with Grey-Veined Marble Top

Description: This Italian Walnut Commode Suite, dating to circa 1850–1870, features warm walnut construction, hand-cut dovetail joinery, and beautifully aged grey-veined marble tops. The larger commode is complemented by two matching nightstands, each with paneled fronts and turned feet. Original-style hardware adds character, including round, ring-style drawer pulls and escutcheons with a softly aged patina. Natural variations in the walnut grain and signs of age enhance the timeless character of this well-crafted Italian suite.

Condition Notes: All three pieces show age-appropriate wear. Commòde: crack in wooden substrate beneath marble top (marble intact); slight base feet decay due to decades of floor washing around the legs. Nighstands: base feet decay on both; one cabinet door requires rehinging and the wooden shelf inside is cracked.
